We use involute teeth for pulley. These involute teeth have basic design track formed by movement of belt teeth from interlocking of belt with teeth. Therefore, it shows small interference between belt and pulley teeth during rotatoin and can obtain extremely soft rotation. Also, as backlash between belt and pulley can be designed to extremes, it is possible to obtain excellent position precision and accuracy of rotation transfer.
