These switches are magnetic type, based on the effects produced by the interference of a stranger metal item in a normally stable magnetic circuit. The “proximity” – with no contact or mechanical action – of the foreign items alters the magnetic field of the sensor providing the actuation of an electric circuit in turn associated to the automation or alarm/security system.
They are ideal for any contactless control, useful for applications in critical environments dominated by the presence of oils, greases, liquids, dusts, etc. They are indispensable to detect and/or count any items passing by at remarkable speed. Then they are not subject to any mechanical wear and thus, compared to traditional switches, a longer operating life is guaranted. The reed contact can be monostable or bistable. The switches are actuated by a permanent magnet series MG.
