STARTING AIR DISTRIBUTOR

Distributes air to starting valves that are installed on each cylinder of engine. Starting Air Distributor is installed on the rear part of engine and controls starting valves when it is operated by CAMSHAFT. When "START"command is received, pressure rises in Starting Air Distributor's duct and spring-controlled distributor's piston moves toward CAM due to the difference in diameter. When distributor's piston reaches the lowermost part of CAM, controlling air that passes through Starting Air Distributor's bore is sent to Starting Valves to open them up. Then, the engine is revolved by Starting Air. When "FUEL" command is received, the air in duct is discharged to close Starting Valves.
