The target process is to press lasted uppers onto bottom components to mark around the bite line. To apply consistent pressure on a lasted upper and allow a 360 degree view of the biteline so the operator can draw a line around the biteline. Downstream operators use this line to apply cement and ensure proper alignment of uppers to midsole/outsole units.
