It is easily applied to small BLOCKs or side cell BLOCKs where weight is focused in one spot. For instance, when an inaccurate LUG is bound when 4 LUGs are attached to 300TON BLOCK. Strong points are that it prevents damage on the WIRE that is attached to the HOOK and that it enables to maintain a precise LEVEL even when a LUG in a faulty position is bound.
