포도당-6-인산가수분해효소 (Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, G6PD)는 적혈구 세포의 활성산소에 의한 손상을 막아주는 주요 효소로, G6PD 유전자 변이로 인한 G6PD 결핍 적혈구 내에서는 과산소(O2－)나 과산화수소(H2O2)와 같은 산화제가 축적되어 적혈구 용혈현상을 일으킵니다. G6PD 유전자 변이형 (variant)은 지리적, 인종적 분포 또는 인류 집단 마다 다르며, 개인이 어떠한 변이형을 보유하고 있는 지에 따라 G6PD 효소 활성도 감소에 차이가 있습니다. 또한 이는 항말라리아 약제, 항생제, 진통제 , 특정 음식 등을 섭취했을 때 그 증상이 나타난다고 보고되어 있습니다. 따라서 유전자 검사를 통한 G6PD 변이 유전자형을 확인하여 적혈구 용혈을 초래할 수 있는 요소를 피하는 것이 중요합니다.
본 제품은 Multiplex allele-specific PCR 기술을 이용하여 G6PD 유전자 변이형을 확인하는 키트로, G6PD 유전자 8 site의 mutation을 한번의 PCR로 검사할 수 있습니다. 사용의 편리함을 위해 enzyme과 dNTP, buffer 등을 섞은 Smart mix 형태로 제조하여 사용자가 template DNA와 primer만 첨가하여 간편하게 PCR을 수행할 수 있으며, wild type과 mutant type의 positive control이 제공됩니다.
