Description
Adhesive (METALOC)
Metal Rock is a vulcanizing adhesive that bonds rubber and metal simultaneously with vulcanization of rubber.
Natural rubber or various synthetic rubber and metal, ceramic, phenolic resin, and nylon molded products can be strongly adhered to the surface of the substrate, dustproof rubber, rubber lining, rubber rolls, solid tires, and oil seals can be widely used.
Normally, when METALOC is used, it is applied to the metal side, and after drying, it bonds with rubber.
Various kinds of adhesives can be selected depending on the kind of the rubber to be adhered and the use of the colored product.
Metal Rock C-12
Metalock C-12 is a room temperature adhesive between vulcanized acrylonitrile rubber (NBR) and metal or vulcanized acrylonitrile rubber (NBR).
Adhesion method
1. In order to obtain good adhesion, the adhesive surface must be clean. Rubber surface is often contaminated with release agent, blend of compounding agent, etc., and if strong adhesion cannot be obtained, preliminarily pre-treat with toluene. If the rubber surface is cleaned with a soft cloth or the like, better adhesion can be obtained. The metal surface should be cleaned with toluene or the like to remove the grease from the surface.
2. Apply Metal Lock C-12 on both sides to be bonded. In case of spraying, dilute with ethyl acetate or MEK. After application, dry at room temperature for 30 minutes or more. Depending on the task, there is no impact even after several days.
3. Both sides of the dry film surface (sometimes only one side is possible), soak it in MEK and tightly close it before drying. Please squeeze so that there will not be any problem.
4. Adhesion strength at room temperature improves with the passage of several days, and sufficient adhesion can be obtained after several days. When heated, the final bond strength can be reached quickly.

Metalock C-12 contains the second type of organic solvent under the Japan Industrial Safety and Health Law,
Please pay extra attentions to ventilation. Also, please be careful about fire because it is according to the Fire Law Dangerous Goods Category 4, 1st petroleum.
