Over many years, people's lives and society have changed drastically. We can certainly say that society has become more affluent in terms of possessing goods. On the other hand, we can see that this pursuit of affluence has created various imbalances in society such as serious health concerns, declining birthrates, aging populations, threats to the global environment, and difficulties meeting our energy needs.
We must face these imbalances that impair the physical and mental conditions of individuals as well as society overall, and we must further contribute to overcoming them by making full use of our cutting-edge technologies. This is the mission that Panasonic must pursue as a company that has stayed close to people's lives and has endeavored to contribute to the development of society.
As the world moves forward and the COVID-19 crisis is eventually resolved, along with further progress in many fields, we will strive to help create a better life and a better world as a public entity. Furthermore, I believe we can make significant contributions to achieving SDGs, an agenda the international community has set its sights on achieving, and thus help build a sustainable society.
